# How do I add files to a log item/task and how are they linked?

You can add or link files in tasks and logs.

For a task, you have the option of adding files either at the bottom using drag & drop, or, if the files are already available on smino, you can click on **Add from File Tray** under Plans.

You also have the possibility to add a link directly. To do this, click on the sign **Insert link**.

A new window will open. Copy the URL and paste it into the **URL** window (1.). In the **Text to display** (2.) the link is automatically added again as a name. Here you have the possibility to adjust the description. In the yellow marked area you can additionally generate a title, furthermore you can define if you want to have the link opened in a new window or in the current window. Afterwards click on **Save** (3.).

You can also add files in the log. To do this, click on **+ Add attachment** (1.) for the task in the log. Here, too, you can either add the files using drag & drop (area marked in yellow) or, if the files are already available on smino, click on **Add from file Tray** (2.). Once you have added the attachment, click on **Save** (3.).
