# How do I create a defect?

A defect can be created in the same way as a task. Note to change the type to ${color}[#000000](**deficiency**).

| Note: The defect just created can now be added to the inspection in the mobile version with a click on the **+ Existing Defects** button.

Create defect directly over a plan: 

Navigate to **Files** (1.) and open the desired plan. Then click in the preview on the position in the plan where the deficiency is located. Then you can click on the **checkmark icon** (2.).

The dialog box appears analogous to creating a task, with the difference that now you see the plan marker.
