# How do I delete a file?

| Note: The file is moved to the recycle bin. This can be restored under the menu item Recycle bin => [How does the recycle bin work?](https://help.smino.com/en/article/how-does-the-recycle-bin-work-1iufjlf/)

1. Option:

Navigate to the relevant folder and select the **three points** for the relevant plan / document (1.). Then click the **Move to Trash** button (2.).

For safety you need to confirm the deletion of the file. To do that click the **Move to Trash** button.

2. Option:

Navigate to the relevant folder and select the **Checkbox** for the relevant plan / document (1.). Then click on the **Move to Trash** button (2.).

For safety you need to confirm the deletion of the file. To do that click the **Move to Trash** button.
