# How do I enable or disable the file naming convention for each folder?

To enable or disable the file naming convention for each folder, you must first configure a setting in the project settings:

Open the **Project Settings** (1.) and scroll down to the “File Naming Conventions” section. Click the **Edit button** there (2.).

A new window will open. Here, you can turn on or off the “Deactivatable per folder” option by **clicking** (1.) the corresponding button. Then click **Save** (2.).

Once you have enabled the “Deactivatable per folder” option, you can enable or disable it independently for each folder.

Navigate to the desired folder, click the **3 dots** (1.), and then click **Naming convention on** (2.).

The setting will then change to “Name Convention Off.” The file naming convention is now disabled for this folder. To re-enable it, click **Naming Convention Off**.

|| Information: This setting applies to the selected folder and all its subfolders.
