# How do I enable or disable version detection for each folder?

To enable or disable version detection on a per-folder basis, you must first configure a setting in the project settings:

Open the **Project Settings** (1.) and scroll down to the “Version Detection” section. Click the **Edit button** there (2.).

A new window will open. Here, you can **turn on or off** (1.) the “Deactivatable per folder” option by clicking the corresponding button. Then click **Save** (2.).

Once you have activated the “Deactivatable per folder” option, you can enable or disable it independently for each folder.

Navigate to the desired folder, click the **3 dots** (1.), and then click **Advanced version detection on** (2.).

The setting will then change to “Advanced version detection off.” Version detection is now disabled for this folder. To re-enable it, click **Advanced version detection off**.

|| Information: This setting applies to the selected folder and all its subfolders.
