# How to set the scale in the plan view for accurate measurement?

In the plan view, you can measure accurately within a plan or a model, provided that the measuring tool is calibrated correctly. 

Open the desired file and click on the **"Measuring "** button (1.). Then open the measuring tool by clicking on the **"Measure tool "** (2.).

Now start the calibration by clicking on the **Calibration** icon.

Now select 2 points of which you know exactly how far apart they are. When you have selected 2 points, a new window opens in which you can specify the distance of the 2 points. Pay attention to the correct unit of measurement. Then click on the **"Calibrate"** button.

Now you have successfully completed the calibration and can start measuring at any point in your plan or model.
