How do I create a new project, and how can I use a project as a template?

To create a new project, click on your name (1.) and then on Projects (2.).

You will be taken to the overview page of all the projects you have created or are participating in. Click the + New Project button.

Note: You can only perform this action if you are an organization administrator or an organization project administrator.

Project Details:

Fill in at least all required fields (areas highlighted in yellow). Optionally, you can specify an internal or project-wide project number (area highlighted in green) as well as a project logo. To add a project logo, click select (1.) or drag and drop the image into the designated area. After you have filled in all the details, click the Continue button (2.).

Template:

Under the “Template” section, you can use the search bar to select an existing project as a template (1.). If you want to create a completely new project, simply click Continue (2.).

Under “Automatically applied”, you will see all the data that is automatically copied. If you are using the project template, you also have the option to select additional options by checking the corresponding checkbox (1.). Then click Continue (2.). The data will be loaded in the next view based on your selection.

My Organization:

Fill in at least all required fields (areas highlighted in yellow) and, if desired, specify the trade or BKP number (area highlighted in green). Add internal team members to the project by entering the person’s name in the search field (area highlighted in yellow) and then selecting them by clicking on their name. You can also add external team members in this step. Click the arrow (1.) to open the menu and enter the person’s email address in the search field (area highlighted in yellow).

Note: If a person has not yet been added to the organization, they cannot be added to the project. => How do I add employees to my organization?

After selecting the relevant people, you can use the checkboxes (2.) to specify whether the person should be granted the “Internal administration” and/or “Project administration” rights. You can see what each right means by hovering your mouse over the corresponding question mark. If you have selected the wrong person, you can remove them by clicking the X (3.). Then click the Continue button (4.).

Printing Service:

This step is optional. You can also change the printing service settings later in the project settings. If you want to specify the printing service at a later time, select No repro service (1.). Otherwise, select a printing service by clicking (2.) on it.

You can select the desired print service (1.). After you have selected the printing service, you can choose between the option All organizations pay for their print jobs themselves (2.) and the option Global billing address for selected organizations (3.).

Information: The branch can also be changed later when placing the print job. The print shop can be changed by a project admin in the project settings.

Billing Address:

Option 1: All organizations pay for their print jobs themselves:

Each organization can select its own print shop. All organizations can create print jobs, but they must handle billing on their own.

Option 2: Global billing address for selected organizations:

The print shop is designated by the project admin for the entire project. Selected organizations can create print jobs using a global billing address. Organizations that are not selected cannot create print jobs via smino.

Create Project:
